What is toughened glass? Toughened glass is strengthened glass where by the glass has been industrially heated and slowly cooled increasing the strength to up to 5 times. If broken the glass will disintegrate into small relatively harmless pieces greatly reducing chance of injury. Reduce the risk of accident by impact, fracture or shattering of the glass.
When is it required? The shaded areas in below diagram shows the areas in which safety glass must be used. Glass used in these areas must comply with BS 6206.
Laminated Glass We can supply laminated safety glass in thickness from 4.4mm to 21.5mm What is laminated glass? Laminated glass is a type of safety glass which holds together when shattered. It is 2 or more pieces of glass held together by a polymer interlayer which is made through heat and pressure, which keeps the glass together even when broken.
